nResult has recently provided volunteer testing for PDFKeeper – an open source, free document storage system that provides storage, indexing, and retrieval functionality. PDFKeeper is intended for use in small home or offices and can be used by a single user or in a workgroup environment.

Given that open source software is utilized by nResult on everything from client projects to corporate infrastructure, nResult was more than willing to give back to the open source community by making its quality assurance services available to test the open source software, free of charge. nResult volunteered its services, processes, and engineers to provide compatibility and functionality testing for the PDF storage system.

PDFKeeper has earned numerous awards including the Brother Soft editor’s pick and the Best Freeware Download award. PDFKeeper is hosted by Google Code at http://code.google.com/p/pdfkeeper/, and on many download sites around the world.

7-Zip, an open source file compression tool distributed in 74 languages world wide, is one of the leading file compression applications available today. Able to handle common formats such as ZIP, GZIP, RAR, and TAR, 7-Zip can also handle a range of other formats including DEB, DMG, ISO, LZH, MSI, its own proprietary 7z, and many others.

In our continued commitment to Open Source, nResult has volunteered several of its QA engineers to work on the latest build of 7-zip. These engineers, fully funded by nResult, has joined the extensive team of 7-zip contributors on SourceForge.net tracking, verifying, and reporting a wide range of bugs. nResult engineers have helped to verify current bug fixes as well as uncover several new issues in the most recent build of 7-zip.
